About Maple Class

Maple Class is a mixed age class, with children from Year 1 and Year 2. We have an outdoor area covered with a canopy, so learning can take place both inside and outside in all weathers.

Learning in Maple Class

We use a topic-based approach to learning to engage and motivate the children, with lots of practical, hands-on experiences. Children have daily phonic lessons, guided reading groups, English and Maths lessons.
In Computing children will learn simple coding and algorithms, internet safety and how to use computers to organise and store data. RE will mainly focus on Christianity and also Sikhism.

How you can help!

We very much welcome parent helpers to Maple Class. In the past we have had several regular volunteers who do a variety of helpful jobs for us, including hearing children read, photocopying and laminating resources and helping with messier subjects such as art. Please pop in to see us if you would like to help.
We are always looking for new toys for our outdoor area. We are in desperate need of toy cars and jigsaws. If you have any spare or any other donations for the classroom please let us know.
We look forward to an exciting year ahead working with you and your children.
