Applying for your place at Cheveley C of E Primary School
If your child was born between 1 September 2019 and 31 August 2020 and you currently live in Cambridgeshire you will need to apply for a primary school place – reception, for September 2025.
- You must submit your application online before the deadline of 15th January, 2025 and you will be notified on 16th April, 2025.
- If you wish to apply for a school place that is not the school’s natural year of entry (For example a year 3 or year 5 place at a primary school), please complete an in-year admission application.
- If you want to apply for a school place that is not for the start of the next academic year (September 2025) please complete an in-year admission application.
Before you apply for a school place:
1. Check you are applying to the correct council. If you are a Cambridgeshire resident you will make your application through the Cambridgeshire Admissions Team, even if you want to apply for a school outside of Cambridgeshire.
2. Make sure you read the guidance documents.
If your application could be delayed or cancelled. You will be asked to confirm you have read and understood the guidance during the online application process
It is recommended that you read the admissions “ First Steps booklet.” This will explain the application process from start to finish. The booklet also contains a list of all the primary schools in Cambridgeshire, along with their catchment areas and allocation criteria. You must apply online using our Citizen Portal application form.

(If you have a UID code it can be used within the ‘Citizen Portal’ to pre-populate some of the form fields. You can still apply without a UID code).
Important Dates
15th Jan, 2025 – National Closing Date – Applications must be received by this date – Applications received after this date will not be considered until the second round of applications.
