Courageous Advocacy

Jon Young, Diocesan Director of Education, came to present Mr Bedford, Charlie, Teddie, Max and Thea with the Courageous Advocacy award after they walked the Pennine Way – all 268 miles- for the cancer support charity, Maggie’s.

Mrs Bedford passed away in 2023, and the family was supported by Maggie’s in Cambridge and wanted to give something back.

The whole school heard about the amazing walking and camping adventure, hearing how they battled the summer storm and the heatwave to make it to their final destination. The children and staff were both moved and inspired by them all and Granny and Grandad looked on with pride!
